On May 6, 2014, Slate published an article by Hua Hsu and Richard Jean So titled “Donald Sterling’s Model Minority”, detailing counts of racism against Asians, specifically Koreans, that are often misconstrued in society as positive stereotypes towards them. In the article, the authors make compelling points that show strong evidence of yet another type of racism, separate from both the overt, bigoted racism that has shown a decline in recent years and the casual racism that has become rampant in modern society.
