Music Monday: Yuna

How the time has flown by since the end of the semester! Today’s song is “Broke Her” by Yuna, a talented and famous Malaysian singer, who first became well known in the States in 2011. The song was released as a single in 2014, and is a wonderful introduction to Yuna if you have not heard any of her songs before.

Here, her voice is stunning and the song has a soulful simplicity and rawness that feels very stripped down – in a great way. The equally pared down music video is stylish and gives the song an intimate feeling. Her interview with “The Cut” was inspiring to say the least.
